But whomever is united with the Lord is one with him in the spirit.
East Woods is a congregation that reflects God's central calls to the church: to love God (Mark 12:30), to love our neighbors as ourselves (Luke 10:27), to love one another (John 13:34), and to make disciples of Jesus (Matthew 28:19). Those calls are represented in our Purpose Statement. By God's grace, we are a congregation...
Called to Worship,
Called to Community, and
Called to be Disciples of Christ!
While we don't have a formal mission statement, we believe it is the common mission of all Christian congregations to seek the Kingdom of God by loving God and others sincerely. We have been drawn - individually and together - into a life-changing, intimate relationship with God, through Jesus Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit. That relationship is formed and deepened as we reach outside of ourselves and respond to God’s dynamic mission in the world.
What We Believe
Like the New Testament Church we believe that…
God is one, though represented in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
We are saved from the power of sin and death by the grace of God through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Bible is God's Word and our authority for faith, life and ministry.
The Holy Spirit is alive and active in our world, leading people toward God's truth and giving believers in God the power to be Jesus' representatives, seeking those in need of God’s love and speaking the truth in love to all people.
The church is not a place but a people, set apart and sent out by God, strengthened in unity and love when we devote ourselves to the teaching of God's word, to fellowship with one another, to the breaking of bread and baptizing, and to prayer.
