Our congregation shares the life and love of Christ through

Connection, Compassion, and Celebration

Our community is blessed with CONNECTION through  meaningful opportunities for relationships and service, both inside and outside the  church.

COMPASSION:  We are called to be disciples of  Christ.  As he  came to us, so we need to go out to others, locally and globally.

Most importantly, we CELEBRATE God’s faithfulness and grace through personal and communal worship.   Our sermons are intelligent, personal, biblically based, and laced with humor.  We honor God in a style that is casual, but with respect for tradition.  We hear the Word in terms that apply to our daily lives, praise God in song, and pray together and for each other.

Pastor Bill Sperry's sermons are intelligent, personal, biblically based, and laced with humor. We worship and honor God in a style that is casual, but with respect for  tradition.  We hear the Word in terms that apply to our daily lives, praise God in song, and pray together and for each other.   Our community prayer time is very special as we openly voice our joys and concerns so that we may pray for each other in our worship setting.

Communion Sunday

Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month.

All those who put their trust in Jesus Christ are invited to participate in Communion

along with children who have been instructed in the meaning of the Sacrament.

Follow Jesus' Example

Our services should inspire worshipers to follow Jesus’ example by introducing the gospel message to our community and the world through the way we live and serve.

We support regular participation in worship and we encourage our congregation to be involved in activities that help them grow in faith and spiritual maturity and service to the congregation or the community.

Our Sunday morning service is both a blend of the contemporary and traditional, mixing modern praise and worship music with cherished and time-honored hymns.

Gathering Sundays

On the first Sunday of each month, we celebrate the Lord's Supper during our worship services and have brunch together as a congregation during the Connecting Time in between services.

Everyone visiting on the first Sunday of the month is invited to join us and to enjoy this time of breaking bread together.

Special Services

We offer several styles of worship in varied formats that best bring the Word and seasons to light. These special services include:

During Lent we have Ash Wednesday,  Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday services.

During the summer we have our annual All-Church Baptism Celebration at Fallen Leaf Lake Park in Camas. We also offer Confirmation Sunday and Youth Mission Sunday.

In October, we hold our annual Blessing of our Animal Companions in order to  acknowledge God’s beloved creatures and celebrate the emotional connection we have with our pets.

We participate with the "Churches in Partnership" for a Joint Thanksgiving Eve service

During Advent, we have the children lead us in Lessons and Carols.  We also offer a  Service of Reflection and two Christmas Eve candlelight services.

Once a month we offer our Bluegrass Music Service.

Children and Nursery

Children are cherished and welcome to stay for the whole worship service or attend Children's Sunday School, which begins after the Children's Message during the service. Sunday School classes are offered for Pre-school through 5th grade.

Each Sunday, East Woods provides loving attention to your infants and toddlers in the nursery during the worship service.

Participation in Service

There are many opportunities for participation in worship as greeters, ushers, praise song leaders, and scripture readers.  Stop by our "Happenings" Table or check out the "Happenings" page on this website to see if there is a fit for you.
