Children and Family

Sunday School is in session for the elementary students (Grades K-5).

We welcome you anytime.

How will our children learn to make ethical, moral decisions?  How will they encounter Life's wonder, awe, mystery and hope?  East Woods Presbyterian Church's Children's Ministry is committed to helping children build a joyous and loving relationship with God through knowing Jesus Christ and discovering God's Word in the Holy Bible.

It is our goal to excite, engage and instruct young disciples about the Word of God through age-appropriate activities, song, drama, crafts and games. Our teachers strive to connect with each child with compassion, gentleness and humility.  As children learn about God's teachings, they will discover their place in the church, how to apply these teachings to their lives and become true disciples of Jesus Christ.

Sunday School for K-5 Grade

Children are invited to Sunday School following the Children's Moment during our 10am Worship Service

This year's central focus is to connect the children with corporate Sunday worship.  We want to help children develop a sense of deeper involvement and ownership around our worship liturgy and practices.  Worship happens when we praise God together.  Praise includes our petitions.

Worship is our gift to God.  More than this, worship involves giving God the honor God is due.  HONOR involves respect, gratitude and admiration; recognizing and embracing God as Creator, God's goodness, kindness and mercy, and God's most gracious gift of all, God's own Son, Jesus Christ.

Come join us this month and we celebrate worship with our children.

"Broadcasting Christmas"

A Performance by the East Woods Children and Youth Members

December 17, 2017

Children and Youth of East Woods presented the December 17th message, “Broadcasting Christmas – The Case of the Missing Christmas”.

This Radio Style Drama involves the classic damsel in distress and detective of those good old radio stories of yesteryear.

The damsel is “looking for Christmas”. Can it be found with the department store Santa?

Can it be found with delicious treats? Is it in singing and festive parties? Or is there something deeper?

Today’s Scriptures include:

Revelation 1:8, John 16:13, Isaiah 9:6, 1 John 4:10, Luke 2:1-17

Carols include:

Joy to the World/What a Glorious Night Medley,

Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,

Angels We Have Heard On High,

Away In A Manger.

Original script by Marti Krameer Suddarth; Adapted for East Woods by Caleb and CarrieAnn Baker.
