915 SE 164th Ave, Vancouver, WA

Thursday, June 29, 4:00-8:00 p.m.

Who loves Panera Bread?

We do.  We hope you do, too.

On Thursday, June 29th, 2017 between 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. East Woods will host a Fundraiser Night at Panera Bread.  All you have to do is show up with a flyer from our church and we will receive % of the receipts during that time.  Our goal is to provide at least 50 flyers for a 20% give back on net sales.

Both take-out and dine-in meal purchases are eligible, but each purchase must be accompanied by a flyer.  Electronic version shown on a mobile device will also be accepted.  If you don't have one from the church, feel free to download one at this link:  Panera Cares

Bring your friends and family and let's make it a fun night of celebrating warm weather coming to Vancouver.

A Study in Core Beliefs of Being a Christian

During 2017 East Woods Presbyterian will journey as a whole church, from the little ones to the most seasoned members, to believe the core truths of the Bible and to become more like Jesus every day.

We will embark on a holistic study called “BELIEVE”. Grounded in Scripture, BELIEVE is a unique discipleship experience that helps Christians of all ages become more like Jesus in their beliefs, actions, and character. This topical, abridge Bible illuminates the core beliefs of the Christian faith to help you think, act, and be more like Christ.

Over 30 weeks we will dive into BELIEVE and unpack 30 big ideas of the Bible. Everyone in the church will be touched by this study. Children and Family Ministries, Youth Ministries, Adult Ministries, Connecting Time and our sermons will emphasize the lesson for each week.

Our syllabus of study includes:

10 Key Beliefs of the Christian Faith to “Think Like Jesus”

The first ten chapters of Believe detail the core Beliefs of the Christian life. Together they answer the question, “What do I believe?”

10 Key Practices of a Jesus-follower to “Act Like Jesus”

The second ten chapters discuss the core Practices of the Christian life. Together they answer the question, “What should I do?”

10 Key Virtues of a Person Who is Becoming More Like Jesus to “Be Like Jesus”

The final ten chapters contain the core Virtues of the Christian life. Together they answer the question, “Who am I becoming?” This is an exciting opportunity for East Woods. We will grow together in belief, practice and virtue.

Team Builders

K-5 Class

God has called us to be united, acting as one body in Christ.  Over the next few weeks, we are going to tackle some challenges requiring us to work together as a team.  As we meet these challenges, we will also work on memorizing God's Word with a focus on Ephesians 4:1-7.

The "challenges" will vary from week to week, and may involve games, building things, or putting your trust in each other, but whatever the challenge, you will need to work as one.

East Woods  Book Club

Next meeting on June 25th and then July 16th at 9:45 a.m.

Carol Domench will lead this new small group, meeting every third Sunday at 9:45 a.m. in the Willow Room.

The first meeting will give us a chance to define our purpose and begin a reading list.

We hope to engage in thoughtful discussions that resonate with us individually and affirm our faith, find new ideas we many not have considered before, and welcome all perspectives.

If you enjoy reading, exploring a little more deeply into questions we face as Christians and having lively discussions, come join in.

For more information contact Carol Domench at 360-687-6911 or email her at kazooie@pacifier.com.
