Welcome to East Woods Presbyterian Church! We hope our website is a helpful way for you to begin to discover who we are and, much more important, who God is and what God is up to here.

The Church, including the East Woods congregation, is people.  Not a building, or an event, not a denomination, or anything else, but people - imperfect, broken, called, forgiven, redeemed, empowered, sent... centered in the One who has saved us, and is continually saving us. You, like all people, are made in the image of God, and nothing can separate you from the love of God that is revealed in Jesus Christ.

East Woods is a welcoming place not because we’re super nice (although many are), but because we, too, have been welcomed by God. It’s our pleasure and our honor to welcome you!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Considering a visit?

It’s our pleasure and privilege to warmly welcome you into our community as an honored guest.  Our desire is for you to connect with others and to encounter the living God through engaging Christian formation opportunities for all ages, thoughtful prayer, creative worship, and inspired teaching.  Please join us following worship for hospitality and refreshments in the gathering area (Evergreen Hall).

  • When and where are your services?

We meet every Sunday for Worship at 10:00 a.m. with Connecting Time activities before the service from 9:00-9:45 a.m.  Our worship services usually last about 75 minutes.

We meet at 16210 NE 20th Street in Vancouver, WA, near the corner of 162nd Ave and 20th Street.  There is a Starbucks and Wendy's at the first major cross street.

  • What Should I wear?

You may wear whatever you like.  You will see a few coats and ties but most people prefer to dress more casually, wearing anything from shorts to khakis, from jeans to skirts. We believe God is much more concerned with our hearts than our outward appearance.

  • What about my children?

We invite all children to participate in our worship. We offer Sunday School during our worship service for pre-k through elementary aged children. Students begin in worship and are excused for Sunday School prior to the sermon. Younger children may be dropped off in the Nursery any time after 9:00am.

We also have activity clipboards available for young readers and older elementary students to take and use during the service.  Please feel comfortable doing what best meets the needs of your family. Children are always welcome to stay with their family during service.

  • What is the worship service like?

Our service is neither “contemporary” nor “traditional” because God, not style, is our object of worship. Our worship seeks to be vibrantly aware and responsive to God’s presence. We sing old and new, but in an approachable way. We draw on current expressions of faith, as well as ancient prayers and creeds. No matter your age or background, our worship aims to bring us together as we give praise to our Lord.
