Prayer Shawl

Prayer Shawl Ministry: serves as an outreach ministry to the community, as well as to our congregation, by making and giving Prayer Shawls, accompanied by a Prayer of Blessing, to bring comfort, peace, hope and joy to those who receive them.

This ministry meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday at 1 p.m. of each month at East Woods.

Partnership with the

Adventist Hospital Portland

A large percentage of our shawls we deliver to Adventist Hospital in Portland since 2005.  The Chaplains decide who would benefit from our handiwork.  They often share stories of how patients have been touched by the shawls.  The Chaplains asked if they could come to East Woods to meet the ladies that make them.

Shawls are also delivered to Legacy Hospital in Salmon Creek and many go to family and friends of East Woods members.

All shawls are delivered in a beautiful gift bag with attached letter of explanation and a prayer.
