Reflections on a Sunday

An attendee, who prefers to remain anonymous, wrote these reflections and observations for how Christ was seen and experienced during the November 2, 2014 service at East Woods.

"Reflections on a Sunday"

I heard Christ today . . .

I heard His voice falter and tears well up as he told us a tragedy.  I heard His heart break as He told us of two boys who had died in a car crash.  I heard Him pray with His congregation for these two boys and their families, though the congregation did not know them.  I witnessed Christ today . . .

I witnessed Christ through the testimony of a life well cared for.  I witnessed how He was "Always There" providing for and protecting that life.

I witnessed His faithfulness reflected in a brother who sang a song close to His heart.  I saw Christ today . . .

I saw Him give out the saving gift of His body and His blood to all His loved ones.  I saw Him leave the the stage to give out His gift to all who couldn't come to Him.

I saw one of His favorites hold back tears and a sob because she was so touched to be remembered and to be counted among those who could receive this gift. I enjoyed Christ today . . .

I enjoyed a meal prepared with love and sacrifice that Christ made just for me.

I enjoyed laughter and stories and Christ told me all about His silly co-worker.

I enjoyed Christ today with a group of people whom I have come to know as His Body and my family.  Some days, He seems far off, and some days I forget to look.

But today I saw Christ.
