Sermons at East Woods are often intelligent, personal, Biblically based, and laced with humor. We worship and honor God in a style that is casual, but with respect for  tradition.  We hear the Word in terms that apply to our daily lives, praise God in song, and pray together and for each other.   Our community prayer time is very special as we openly voice our joys and concerns so that we may pray for each other in our worship setting.

Communion & Gathering Sunday

Communion is usually celebrated on the first Sunday of each month.

All those who put their trust in Jesus Christ are invited to participate in Communion

along with children who have been instructed in the meaning of the Sacrament.

When we are not limited by COVID restrictions,

lunch together is shared on Communion Sundays after the service.

We invite everyone to enjoy these experiences of breaking bread together.

Children & Worship

Children are cherished and welcome to stay for the whole worship service. Activities and coloring pages that reflect the sermon theme are available each week, and there is a special Kids' Bulletin.

We also have a Quiet Room with couch adjacent to the Sanctuary, as well as a Family-friendly area in the Library that has the service streamed in.

Each Sunday, East Woods provides loving attention to your infants and toddlers in the Nursery during the worship service. The service is streamed to the Nursery so that parents don't miss out if they need to spend time with their child. Nursery Care is available by request as we transition to opening to full capacity.

Special Services

Most years, we offer several styles of worship in varied formats that best bring the Word and seasons to light. These special services include:

During Lent we have Ash Wednesday and Good Friday services, followed by celebratory Easter services.

We hold our Annual Blessing of the Animals service in early October in order to acknowledge God’s beloved creatures and celebrate the emotional connection we have with our animal companions.

We participate with four other Presbyterian churches in the area for a Joint Thanksgiving Eve service as part of our "Churches in Partnership".

During Advent, there is usually a children's pageant or Lessons & Carols service, as well as the Christmas Eve service.
